PAINTER

In our one-year additional qualification in Digital Artist, we combine tradition with modernity. In our state-approved study program to become a painter and sculptor, our students learn a solid craft in a classical or analogue way, which makes them artistically strong. Learning digital programs is enormously helpful for more career opportunities and building an art portfolio.

This additional qualification is only possible for graduates of our two training courses or for external graduates of other classical art academies.

In this program, students learn to create compositions and images from their imagination. They have an idea in mind and learn how to visualize it. They work with programs such as Photoshop or Procreate. The curriculum also includes important programs for three-dimensional design (Maya, Zbrush, Blender,...), which are mainly used in the film and gaming industry.

TEACHING MODEL

Only face-to-face teaching takes place.
Lessons are taught in trimesters. There are 3 trimesters per year with 11 weeks of block teaching. Trimester holidays are in between.
Full-time only.
During the trimester, classes take place Monday to Friday between 9:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Full-time students have classes Monday to Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and on two evenings from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

STUDY PERIOD

The full-time study period is 1 year, which corresponds to 3 trimesters.

STUDY FEE

Full-time study

730 € monthly in 12 installments. The trimester contribution is 2920 € and is divided into 4 installments of 730 € each if monthly transfer is requested.

Participation in the scholarship program of the Academy's Friends Association is possible

STUDY CURRICULUM

Our study program is very practically oriented and always aims to prepare you in the best possible way for your dream job in the film or gaming industry. At the end of the year, you will have developed a finished portfolio so that you can apply directly to the industry. During the year, we focus on the artistic possibilities of the digital industry. This means we stay in drawing, painting and modeling, only digitally. Everything you have learned in your previous training will be applied here and combined with learning the digital tools of various industry-relevant programs such as Maya, Zbrusch, Procreate, Blender etc. You will be able to visualize your ideas and images.

The course also includes regular excursions and lectures by external professionals.

Students will develop their own virtual world in this trimester with their chosen focus in character and creature design, environment and props, comics, concept design or similar

To study with us you need:

A degree as a state-certified painter and/or sculptor or a degree from another academy that teaches classical realism
Knowledge of English - as an international educational institution, the majority of lessons are held in English

Apply online using our registration form. Please note that this registration is already binding. The training usually begins in the fall trimester . Students from other academies can also be accepted for other trimesters after prior examination.

After successful registration, you will receive an automatic reply that we have received your registration. Please also check your spam folder.

Consultation
We will contact you by email within the next 3 working days to arrange a registration interview. The interview can take place by phone, via Zoom Meeting or in person. In this interview we would like to get to know you a little better and find out what your goals are. You will also have the opportunity to discuss any questions you may have with us.
After a successful registration interview, we will send you an invoice for 10% of the trimester fee. This fee is used to secure your place. Only after we have received payment will your registration be binding and you will receive a registration confirmation by email.
International students who do not come from Europe must apply for a visa after successful registration. You can find more information here
